James Pahl Becker (Jay) is a Delaware transactional attorney whose practice focuses on residential and commercial real estate transactions, wills and estate planning, small business formations, commercial transactions, and representation before the Office of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commissioner (OABCC). Based in the firm’s Rehoboth Beach office, Jay represents individuals, families, business owners, restaurants, and property owners throughout Sussex County and across Delaware.
Jay was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and is a graduate of The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee (B.A., cum laude, 1994) and The University of Texas School of Law in Austin, Texas (J.D., 1997). He is admitted to practice law in Delaware and is a member of both the Sussex County Bar Association and the Delaware State Bar Association.
With a practice centered on practical problem-solving and efficient transactions, Jay regularly assists clients with residential and commercial real estate closings, title matters, business purchases and formations, wills, and a broad range of commercial matters. He maintains an active practice representing restaurants, hospitality businesses, and other clients before the Office of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commissioner (OABCC) on liquor licensing matters throughout Delaware. Jay also serves as a title agent for Old Republic Title Insurance Company and First American Title Insurance Company.
Deeply involved in the Delaware community, Jay served on the board of the Rehoboth Beach–Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce for 23 years, including as chairman in 2017 and 2018. He currently serves on the board of Delaware Wild Lands, Inc., Delaware’s largest nonprofit, non-governmental landowner and conservation organization.
Jay lives near Rehoboth with his wife and attack poodle. He enjoys spending as much time as possible with his two grown children, dodging sandbars on his boat, and reading history.
