D. Barrett Edwards IV

D. Barrett Edwards was raised in California and Utah. He served for two years as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Resistencia, Argentina, where he became proficient in Spanish. After graduating from Brigham Young University with a B.A. in Economics, he earned a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Delaware. As a graduate student, he enhanced his knowledge of municipal government by working as a research assistant for the Institute for Public Administration at the University of Delaware and the Delaware Office of State Planning Coordination. While attending law school at Drexel University, he gained additional experience through a co-op placement with the City of Philadelphia Law Department.

In addition to his educational background, Mr. Edwards’ father is a career city manager, which has given Mr. Edwards broad exposure to municipal government. Currently, Mr. Edwards serves as Town Solicitor for the towns of Bowers Beach, Slaughter Beach, Hartly, Farmington, Felton, Magnolia, Kenton, Odessa, Smyrna,  and Wyoming.

Barrett resides in Dover with his wife and their four children, and they are active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Education
