Today, we share with you a brief interview with one of our corporate clients - Delaware Electric Cooperative!
1) Can you give me a brief description of your business?
Delaware Electric Cooperative was founded in 1936 by a group of farmers who wanted to bring the life-changing benefits of electricity to rural areas of Delaware. We are the state’s only not-for-profit utility and serve 90,000 homes and businesses in Kent and Sussex Counties. Our goal is provide affordable, safe ...and reliable power to our members and improve the communities we serve.
2) Why did you choose to make this your career?
Our CEO, Bill Andrew, has more than 30 years of experience in the utility industry, working previously for Delmarva Power. Energy is his passion, as well as the variety of boards and community-focused committees he participates in.
3) Where do you see your business in the next year? How about in the next 5-10 years?
Our industry is quickly changing. Certainly, in five to ten years, we will be providing members with more clean energy generated by wind, solar and landfill gas plants. We also expect new technology will help prevent outages and when they do occur, we’ll be able to quickly pinpoint the cause, allowing us to restore power faster.
4) What kind of activities to you participate in to support the community?
